Measuring virtue: Skeletal dilemmas or flesh and blood stories? – Conference Presentation
Grace spent a few days in beautiful Oriel College in January for the Jubilee Centre’s Second Annual Conference where she presented a paper. The conference theme “Measuring Virtue” brought together psychologists, sociologists, educationalists and philosophers.
The Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtue, based at the University of Birmingham, is a pioneering interdisciplinary research centre focussing on character, virtues and values in the interest of human flourishing. The Centre promotes a moral concept of character in order to explore the importance of virtue for public and professional life.
You can read a draft of Grace’s paper “Measuring virtue: Skeletal dilemmas or flesh and blood stories?’ in which she argues for the use of rich narratives in teaching and assessing virtue here.
