A programme of philosophy for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds
We are delighted to announce our successful tender to the National Collaborative Outreach Programme to form part of their drive to double the proportion of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in higher education (HE) by 2020; increase by 20 percent the number of students in HE from ethnic minority groups and address the under-representation of young men from disadvantaged backgrounds in HE.
We will work with NCOP over an eighteen months period to provide workshops for teenagers across Yorkshire. Our winning offer includes a menu of philosophy workshops and mentoring that address key decisions that young people must make around their identity, community, education and work by connecting with their values and aspirations.
Through this programme hundreds of young people will explore the potential of philosophy to help them think better, learn better and live better. We can’t wait.
