MIMA Philosophy Training in Contemporary Art Setting
In summer 2014, Grace and Liz were invited to the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art(MIMA) for an exciting day of bespoke training in which we explored philosophical enquiry in a contemporary art setting. The training for gallery staff and the education team demonstrated how close looking, comparing and contrasting, ranking and ordering, naming and renaming, mapping and a host of other techniques and activities can support the intellectual experience of visitors to conceptual art spaces whether they be children or adults
This work is part of Thinking Space’s larger enquiry into the role of philosophical enquiry in art spaces.
